Catch a feed at BASECAMP before you catch a feed out of the river!

The Snowy River from Guthega Pondage to Guthega produces some good trout. If you're camped at Island Bend or staying in Jindbayne treat yourself to a cafe fix & more importantly awesome coffee before or after you wet a line.

There are smaller trout in the Guthega Dam but below the dam & down to the Island Bend Pondage you'll find fish up to a kilo. Cast a line into the stiller water of the ponds & catch yourself decent local fish from this beautiful remote section of river. There are a few access trails down to the river along this stretch but they are locked Snowy Hydro access trails however you can still get to the river on foot. These trails will lead you to good stretches of reasonably still water. Good luck & tight lines...se ya at BASECAMP for a few stories!
